A nine-member delegation consisting of members of the EYOWF 2011 Organising Committee and representatives of the Liberec Region leaves for Tampere, which hosts the EYOF 2009 – a summer version of the European Youth Olympic Festival. From 18th to 25th July they will get acquainted with the organisation and logistics of the event.

The members will take part in the Opening and Closing Ceremony, visit the Olympic village and the sport venues. They will also focus on the accompanying programme of the Festival and will advertise EYOWF 2011 in the Liberec Region. In addition to all this, the Finnish organisers have scheduled a specialised two-day seminar on the topic of EYOF organisation. This will take place between the 21st and 22nd July. Prominent Finnish sports officials will share their knowledge and experience with foreign delegates during the seminar. Among the speakers are, amongst others, Essi Puistonen from the Finnish Sport Federation, Arto Ahola of the Finnish Olympic Committee and Mari Vuorinen from the EYOF 2009 Organising Committee.

An important task lies before the Czech delegation in Finland: to present EYOWF which starts in two years in the Liberec Region. Kateřina Nyčová, the Executive Director of the EYOWF 2011 Organising Committee explains: “We have prepared a special English language edition of the EYOWF 2011 bulletin for the Festival in Tampere, in which all the officials of the European and national Olympic Committees, sportspeople, members of the teams and journalists will find information about the current state of preparations of our Festival, its background and some news.”

Apart from Kateřina Nyčová, the programme in Tampere will also be closely followed by Martin Ditrich – Director of the EYOWF 2011 Public Benefit Corporation and other members of the Organising Committee: Ivo Gréger – Sports Director, Jiří Erben – Operations Director, Radana Slaninová – Marketing Manager, Vanda Šulcová – Volunteers Manager and Coordinator for the additional programme for schools and Zbyněk Malý – Security Manager.
