How did the participants like the Opening Ceremony?

Jasmine Costa (Estonia), figure skater: “The Opening Ceremony was terrific, I was most impressed by the acrobats on the ropes - they were simply breathtaking. For me EYOWF is a huge competition where I can gain a lot of experience and prove myself as a good athlete.”

Alena Schejbalová (Czech Republic), cross country skiing: “It was fantastic; I enjoyed it a lot. The most interesting part for me was before the Olympic Flame was lit, the acrobats on stilts. It is a great honour for me to be competing here.”
Franjo Bosnjak (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Alpine skiing: “Great, great, simply awesome. It was beautiful when the person on the ropes flew down from heaven and lit the flame. I am very happy to be here at EYOWF. I can’t wait to race.”
Calum Irvine (Great Britain), biathlon: “It was okay; I liked the lighting of the Olympic Flame best. It was obvious that the organisers had taken immense care. The festival will be a great sports experience.”
