After the successful seminar for representatives of the national sport delegations taking part in EYOWF 2011, the organisers of the European Youth Olympic received praise at the 39th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in Belgrade. The highest Olympic officials voiced appreciation of the state of preparations of the event in the Liberec Region which is due to start in less than two months.

The Czech delegation consisted of Kateřina Nyčová, Executive Director of the EYOWF 2011 Organising Committee, Vladimír Richter, Chairman of the Administrative Board of EYOWF 2011 Public Benefit Corporation, Martin Ditrich, Director of the EYOWF 2011 Public Benefit Corporation, members of the Czech Olympic Committee – the President Milan Jirásek, the Vice-President for Sport František Dvořák and Petr Hrubec, Secretary General. The delegation had a 10-minute presentation on the current state of preparations in the capital of Serbia.

"In our presentation, we showed scenes from the Chefs de Mission seminar we organised for foreign delegations at the end of November, as well as our mascot Rampich the Icicle, who in his special way invited participants to EYOWF 2011 in the Liberec Region," commented Kateřina Nyčová, Executive Director of the EYOWF 2011 Organising Committee.

One of the points on the programme was a meeting of the Czech delegation and Guido de Bondt, President of the EYOF Commission within the European Olympic Committees, and Patrick Hickey, President of the EOC. On this occasion, Patrick Hickey received the certificate of Honorary President of the EYOWF 2011 Organising Committee. Kateřina Nyčová added: "In general, we would say that the reactions were positive overall and we have set a truly high standard. The only thing left is the organisation of the Festival itself which we will undoubtedly manage successfully. At present, we are fine-tuning the last details."

During the General Assembly, the organiser of the summer version of EYOF 2015 was selected. One of the candidates was Brno which was defeated in the end in a decisive vote by the Georgian capital Tbilisi. The 39th EOC General Assembly took place in Belgrade in order to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the founding of Serbian Olympic Committee.
