The Nordic Combined Team competition was dominated by the Austrian duo, Paul Gerstgraser and Philipp Orter, whose victory was already decided on the completion of the jumping phase.
Twenty four participants from twelve countries took part in the Nordic Combined competition. The Austrians were among the biggest favourites. No one was surprised by the standings after the Ski Jumping section of the race, which was dominated by the Austrians ahead of athletes from Finland and Germany.
The Czech representatives, Tomáš Dufek and Ondřej Kelnar finished ninth in the jumps. Czech coach, Patrick Chlum, however, had higher ambitions: "We wanted to be sixth." Czech skiers remained in ninth position, even after the cross-country.
The Austrians set off on the four-kilometre track with a three seconds head start on the Finns. The Germans were twenty seconds behind. The Norwegians did not start on the cross-country track because one of their competitors was injured. The Austrians managed to maintain their lead but there was a battle for the silver medal. Second position went to the Germans and the Finns had to settle for bronze.
